Alder began while Bob Westlake was surfing on the west coast of Cornwall and noticed there was nowhere selling Californian-style surfing wear. Bob’s wife Annie decided to make some of the first boardshorts in the UK, and thus ‘Alder’ was born.
That was back in the 1960s. Alder has since grown, going strong to this day making Bodyboards, wetsuits and accessories to a high standard yet at competitive prices so everyone can buy them.
