What Bodyboard Size Should I Get?

You’ll want to consider your height, weight, and personal preferences to choose the right bodyboard size. A general rule of thumb for selecting a bodyboard size is as follows:

  1. Stand the bodyboard on its tail and lean it against your legs.
  2. The top of the bodyboard should reach somewhere between your navel (belly button) and your lower chest, depending on your preference.

However, it’s also essential to consider your weight and experience level. Here’s a general guideline to help you select a bodyboard size:

  • 18-27 kg: 33-36 inches (84-91 cm)
  • 27-38 kg: 36-38 inches (91-96 cm)
  • 38-52 kg: 38-40 inches (96-102 cm)
  • 52-61 kg: 40-42 inches (102-107 cm)
  • 61-77 kg: 42-44 inches (107-112 cm)
  • 77-90+ kg: 44-46+ inches (112-117+ cm)

These are just general guidelines, and individual preferences may vary.

For example, some riders may prefer a slightly longer or shorter board depending on their riding style, wave conditions, or skill level.

Additionally, consider the board’s width and thickness when selecting a bodyboard.

Wider and thicker boards provide more flotation and stability, benefiting beginners, while narrower and thinner boards are generally more manoeuvrable and suitable for advanced riders.
